12-session 1:1 coaching program
Speak Like You Think™ is a program for professionals who are done guessing why their English lets them down in the moments that matter — and ready to do something precise about it.
Over 12 sessions, we identify exactly which communication mechanisms are failing you, work through each one systematically, and build the strategies that make your English hold up when the stakes are high.
What we work on depends on you — but typically covers:
-
How to stop translating and start communicating in real time
-
How to say less, land more, and stop losing the thread under pressure
-
How to make language choices that land
Twelve sessions. One clear outcome: English that reflects who you actually are professionally.

Choose from one of three monthly subscription plans designed to fit your schedule and budget.
Finally Fluent™ is for professionals who are done with grammar drills, vocabulary lists, and methods that don't go anywhere — and ready for coaching that's built entirely around how the brain actually acquires language.
You already know more English than you think. We start there.
From your very first session, you talk. What we work on grows directly from what you bring in from your life outside our sessions — the patterns you notice, the situations that trip you up, the English you want to own.
No textbooks. No prescribed curriculum. Just you, your English, and where you want to take it.
One to three sessions per week, depending on your schedule and budget. One clear outcome: English that finally feels like yours.

My Approach
This is not about studying English. It's about identifying exactly what's getting in the way of your communication, and fixing it with precision.
After 20 years working in legal linguistics — environments where a single word choice carried real professional and legal consequences — I developed a methodology that goes straight to the source of the problem rather than treating the symptoms.
Most professionals who struggle in English aren't struggling because of deficiency. They're struggling because of specific, identifiable patterns: in how their first language shapes the way they construct meaning in English, in how they process language in real time under pressure, and in how the brain's stress response affects communication performance in a second language.
These are not abstract observations. They are documented phenomena in linguistics, psycholinguistics, cross-cultural pragmatics, and neuroscience. Understanding them precisely is what makes it possible to address them efficiently, without wasted sessions, without generic exercises, and without starting over from scratch.
Every session is built around your specific professional context. We work on what's actually failing you, informed by what the science says about why.
I call it the PRAGMA™ Framework.
Paula Klammer
The professionals I work with are not struggling because their English isn't good enough. They're struggling because nobody ever taught them what's actually failing them — and once we identify it precisely, it's usually more solvable than they expected.
I'm an Calfirnia-raised lawyer-linguist based in Stuttgart, Germany, and the founder of Klammer Academy.
My professional background is in high-stakes language work — legal translation and interpretation between English and Spanish across common-law and civil-law systems, legal-linguistic consulting for international organizations and law firms, and teaching advanced legal writing and professional communication at Georgetown University and New York University.
For 20 years, I worked in environments where the precision of language was not a stylistic preference but a professional necessity. That standard is the foundation of everything I do now.
In 2024, I made a deliberate choice to bring that expertise into a different context — working directly with professionals and organizations who need their English communication to perform at the level their work demands.
I hold advanced training in neuroscience-based coaching methodology, which informs how I work with the cognitive and regulatory dimensions of communication under pressure — the part that traditional language training has never adequately addressed.

Professor Klammer reframed our unfamiliarity with Legal English not as a weakness but as a strength — a perspective shift that changed how I approached the work entirely. The skills I gained help me every day as a lawyer and remind me to bring rigor to everything I do.

Professor Klammer's guidance helped me write a paper that not only fulfilled my course requirements but is also pending publication in a leading health and human rights journal. Her feedback was always thoughtful, personalized, and directly relevant to what I was actually trying to accomplish.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this the right fit for my level of English? This coaching is designed for professionals who are already functional in English — meaning you can hold conversations, follow discussions, and make yourself understood. What we work on is not the foundation of your English but the specific gaps that appear when the stakes are high. If you are just beginning to learn English, this is not the right fit. If you already use English professionally and want it to perform at a higher level, it is.
How is this different from an English course? An English course teaches the language. This coaching identifies what is specifically failing you in your professional communication — and addresses that precisely. Most of my clients have already taken English courses. Many have taken several. What they haven't had is someone diagnose the actual mechanism behind the problem and work on that directly. That is a fundamentally different kind of work — and a much faster one.
How long does it take to see results? Most clients notice a meaningful shift in their fluency and communication confidence between weeks four and eight. Because the coaching is built around your specific professional context, you apply what we work on immediately — not at some point in the future when you feel ready.
Do you work with teams and organizations? Yes. I design and deliver customized communication training for teams working across languages and cultures. Corporate engagements are tailored to your team's specific context and objectives — they are not off-the-shelf programs. If you are an HR or L&D professional looking to improve your team's English communication performance, contact me directly to discuss what that could look like for your organization.
Can my company pay for the coaching? Yes. Many clients use professional development budgets or have their employer sponsor their sessions. If you need documentation for your employer — a program outline, invoice format, or professional development justification — I can provide that.
