Meet Paula Klammer
From Georgetown Law to emTrace® and international coaching, my career has centered on communicating with precision when the stakes are high. Today, as a lawyer-linguist and emTrace® Mastercoach, I develop specialist communication training for lawyers, coaches, and others in emotion-sensitive professions to strengthen client relationships and remain professionally competitive as AI changes their work.
My Story
My Story
California-raised and now based in Germany, I am a lawyer-linguist, emTrace® Mastercoach, communication coach, trainer, and program developer specializing in communication for emotion-sensitive professions.
For more than twenty years, my work involved language with professional consequences: courtrooms, contracts, cross-border legal matters, and the way professionals explain, question, negotiate, and advise. That experience includes teaching legal writing and communication at Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C., and leading the English division of the Language Center at one of Latin America’s foremost international law firms.
Across those settings, I learned to look beyond whether language was technically correct. What mattered was what it accomplished: whether a question elicited useful information, an explanation created understanding, or an exchange moved a negotiation forward.
Today, that same concern connects my legal and linguistic background with coaching and professional training. In emotion-sensitive professions, emotions influence what people disclose, how they respond, and which decisions they make. Effective communication requires attention to both the language and the person receiving it.
As AI changes professional work, lawyers, coaches, and other practitioners face questions about how to remain competitive and sustain the value of their expertise. My communication coaching and training develop capabilities central to their relationships with clients: recognizing emotional and nonverbal signals, understanding motivational patterns, and adapting language as an interaction unfolds.
Through individual communication coaching, courses, and training for companies and law firms, I bring together language pragmatics, the Wholeception Compass®, and Mimikresonanz®. The underlying sequence is practical: perceive what is happening, interpret it in context, and adapt your response. These capabilities transfer across languages and professional settings.
My work also includes individual emTrace® coaching for personal and professional challenges. As an emTrace® Mastercoach, I support clients in addressing emotional stress and blocks that affect how they feel, respond, and act.
Alongside my independent practice, I am co-developing English for emTrace® with Dr. Dirk W. Eilert, developer of emTrace® and Mimikresonanz®. This collaboration combines his expertise as the method’s developer with my background in linguistics, professional education, law, and emTrace® coaching.
My contribution includes curriculum design, terminology development, workbook translation, and learning resources. The aim is natural, precise language that preserves the intended function of coaching questions, interventions, and explanations.
In May 2027, I will teach Level 1 English for emTrace® Coaches at the Eilert Akademie in Berlin. This four-day specialist training supports existing practitioners in applying Level 1 processes with English-speaking clients. I also provide supervision focused on practitioners’ use of English in emTrace® coaching.
I am completing qualifications as a Mimikresonanz® Trainer and in Mesource®. English-language and legal-sector applications of Mimikresonanz® are developing areas of my work.
